"About 11 years ago we lost our beloved Pit Bull "Crissy" to cancer. We were heartbroken and could not even think about ever going thru this pain again. We lasted three days! That weekend we went looking for another one. Then I got a call from Stephanie. "Please let me rescue a dog for you", she said. I knew that she was a big advocate for rescuing animals, but a Pit bull from an animal shelter? We were apprehensive but we reluctantly agreed. The phone rang an hour later. "I have found your baby". Those were her exact words.
After finding "Schatzi" in the Santa Monica Animal Shelter, she took her to her home, thoroughly evaluated her for one week and concluded that she was a perfect addition to our family. Thanks to Stephanie we have had 11 years with the sweetest, gentlest Pit Bull you can imagine. Our two year old granddaughter loves her and Schatzi returns that love ten fold. Stephanie has an uncanny connection with all animals and we would never get another animal without consulting her first. She is a 'real' animal whisperer." -Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Garney |

Cub was a feral cat that we gradually adopted from the alley behind our house ten years ago. He has become the most loving animal that we've ever known but giving him medications is another story. In the past when he needed daily "pilling" for an infection we were forced to take him to the vet everyday to be pilled. It was impossible for my wife and I to do it. He was just too strong and wild, yet at the vets office he was compliant because he just wanted to get out of there and come home. So when our vet gave us the news that Cub needed a variety of medications including sticking a needle in the back of his neck to give him subcutaneous fluids to keep his kidneys functioning, we became distressed. His survival was dependent upon these treatments (We got several opinions to verify this). We were very sad and didn't know what to do. Our choices were, 1) Take him to the vet all of the time to get his treatments We knew that neither of these options were viable. We were not going to make him miserable just to keep him alive for us. It was at this point that we gratefully discovered Stephanie Miller and Precious Pets. Stephanie has been administering Cub his medications for the past eighteen months and it's been a breeze. Cub sits in her lap and Stephanie easily does what was impossible for us to do. Even after he's been given his subcutaneous fluids and meds, Cub will just stay in Stephanie's lap. He loves her. And so do we. On our last visit to the vet Cub had his ultrasound for his heart and all of his blood tests. When the results were in our Vet called us and said, "I have to tell you that I am amazed by what I'm seeing. Not only is Cub not declining but he's actually improving. I've never seen this before". Cub is truly thriving. He looks and acts just like he did ten years ago. Stephanie Miller and Precious Pets has been a Godsend and we are truly grateful for her highly professional and loving service." -Kevin and Teri Keresey |

Stephanie Miller cared for my doggy Yogi for several years.Yogi was truly a member of the family. He was my dearest friend and my beloved pet. From the time I met Stephanie, I knew I had met the perfect person to care for Yogi. I travel quite a bit, and that meant leaving Yogi behind. The only reason I felt comfortable leaving Yogi, was the wonderful care Stephanie always gave Yogi. I always knew Yogi was in the best of hands. Stephanie became a member of my family and to this day we have a very special relationship. -Candi Blum |

Once while my husband and I were away, a pet emergency arose. We were about to fly home, but Stephanie and James reassured us by setting forth a plan, which they executed without a hitch. Now we feel so much more secure when we have to leave our beloved cats in someone's care while we are away. I wish to also note that they water our house plants and collect our mail while caring for our cats. Before Precious Pets it was so inconvenient and awkward depending on the kindness of friends while away. -Christine Forest M.D. |

Stephanie Miller is the pet whisperer! She is truly fantastic. Stephanie came into our family’s life during a rough spot and made a huge difference in our dog’s life. My husband and I had tried hiring someone to walk Jude before. Anyone who is familiar with the Aussie breed knows that they are smart but somewhat high-strung dogs. Jude was not only high-strung, but had “special needs,” to put it mildly. She had nipped a few friends in the past and so our policy was that no guests should pet her. Jude had to be muzzled at every vet visit because she would bite the vet if given the chance. All of the animal care professionals we contacted declined working for us when told of Jude’s history. All but Stephanie. Stephanie was confident over the phone that she would be able to work with Jude the first time we talked with her. I was skeptical, but hopeful. Needless, to say, she worked wonders with Jude. Stephanie listened with respect when we explained what made Jude skittish or comfortable. I really don’t know how she did it, but she made friends with Jude and was able to coax her on a leash. Stephanie is absolutely amazing. She could sense Jude’s moods and know when she was testy or trusting. Stephanie was really creative and had lots of strategies for getting Jude to trust her. She has such a calm, loving, yet strong and confident manner. Something I also appreciated about Stephanie was her kindness to me personally when she came over. It can be embarrassing for a stranger to see you in bed and come into your home while you are basically helpless. Stephanie was friendly and professional in a way that put me instantly at ease. She also brought me snacks and water even though that was in no way part of her job description. I felt relieved that Jude was getting lovies and pets from her, because I could only talk softly and pet her from the bed. Stephanie was the only other person Jude let love her besides my husband and I. When I went into labor, we called Stephanie from the hospital and she assured us she would take care of Jude. In short, Stephanie Miller is not only extremely competent and dedicated at what she does, but also loving and genuine. Any pet would be lucky to have Stephanie as a caretaker. She is gifted at working with animals and passionate about their welfare. My experience with Stephanie was wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone without reservation. Thank you Stephanie for all you have done for our family. -Katherine |

As a dog owner for more than 25 years, this is the first time I have allowed anyone to walk or take responsibility for my pets. Stephanie has shown to be loving, caring and responsible from day one. My dogs can't wait for her to show up in the mornings for their time with her! -Alison Winston |

James and Stephanie of Precious Pets have been as heartfelt and reliable with my dogs and cat as if they were their own. When I faced a painful decision to put down our 14 1/2-year-old Lab, they were quietly present with the same sense of the weight and sadness I felt. I have depended on them in times of great stress in my family with full confidence. When I was not able to be there for my pets, I knew that feeding, walking and loving would go on uninterrupted. Always soulful and so well organized, they are a rare team doing what they love for the ones you love. -Sarah Mata (Baxter, Louie, Rudy, Vinnie and Sugar) Contact Precious Pets at: |
